Family Sessions/ cake smash sessions last around an hour.
Newborn sessions last from 2-4 hours.
Mini sessions are only 30 mins.
I'm having a baby soon and would like to schedule a newborn session. What should I do?
Contact me as soon as you can! I will get your name on my calendar by your due date and then have you contact me when baby arrives to book the actual date of your session. Newborn sessions should be done within 10 days of birth. This is when they sleep the most, and still have their amazing flexibility which allow for those adorable positions.
When is the best time of the day to schedule a session?
Early morning and early evening is usually when we have the best lighting. We can take photos in the middle of the day, we just need to make sure to find locations with shade.
Do you offer mini sessions?
Yes I do offer mini sessions but only certain times of the year. I might have one in the spring but I usually have a few in the fall. I will make announcements on my site and on Facebook. I am also happy to offer private mini-session dates for families who arrange 3 to 5 other families together for mini sessions to be done on the same day. It would be such a fun way to get together with your friends and family!
Do you offer digital files?
Yes most of my packages do offer some sort of digital files.
What should I wear for my photos?
Try to stay away from fluorescent colors. They tend to leave color casts. Layers are great! They add dimension and depth Once you book your session I will be sending you more tips to help you coordinate. I have also compiled a Pinterest board each season with clothing and color inspiration. Please click on this link.
Can I keep the images from my session private?
All clients sign a model release before the session. If you would prefer to keep your images private, you may indicate your request at that time. For clients who choose to decline the model release, I absolutely respect your decision and will keep your images under lock and key.
What location(s) should we choose for our session?
I keep a list of varying locations that I’m happy to share with you as we plan your session. Usually locations fall into three categories:
- Urban: incorporates lots of color, texture, and cool architecture. Often shot in or close to downtown.
- Natural: takes a more traditional approach to photos.. Parks, fields, etc. Natural lighting provides a great glow to photos.
- Home session: As long as you have plenty of windows in your home, we can photograph there. Home sessions result in very personal, meaningful images. We will work with what you have.
How long will it take me to receive my images after the session?
Your gallery will be posted three weeks after your session. Mini Sessions are posted three to four weeks weeks after your session.
Can I bring my mom/boyfriend/other family member/dog along for a couple of pictures?
YES! I love it when my clients bring along a “laugh buddy,” and it’s always fun to grab an extra photo of the two of you together! You’re also welcome to bring pets, as long as you have somewhere to keep them when they’re not being photographed.
Where should I print my pictures?
With the purchase of digital files, I recommend an excellent online-based consumer lab that offers professional-quality prints for example Mpix. I do not recommend printing your images at Shutterfly, Target, Walmart, CVS, or Costco. These labs are not designed to handle printing professional photography.
What happens if the weather less than ideal for my session?
If the weather is bad, we can reschedule. I do my best to stay on top of the weather and will contact you if I feel there is a chance for bad weather.
