I can't believe a year ago, I got to hold my daughter for the very first time. A year ago, I finally became a mom. Every day since then has been an adventure with this sweet little girl. Now she is turning 1! How time flies by. Happy Birthday my sweet girl. Mama loves you
Its crazy how fast time flies by. It doesn't feel like it was a year ago that I met this cute little boy to do his newborn session. Here he is, celebrating his first birthday. Happy Birthday!!!
Baby B turned one a few days ago and his mom made all these cute props for the session. The banner, the sign and even the cake. They all coordinated perfectly.
Its my birthday!! ( not yet, but we won't be in town for my actual birthday. ) I couldn't figure out what I wanted to do to record this special day. I know the new thing that people are doing for their birthday are adult smash cakes and even though that does look like a lot of fun, I decided against it for now. I got my hubby and we set off to Manassas to take a few fun photos.
I wouldn't let my hubby smash the cake in my face but he did catch me off guard and got to put some of the icing on me
Here is to welcoming a new decade!
As you can tell from the title of the post, I’ll be turning 40 very soon, in less than a month in fact. Luckily the hubby and I will be spending it on a beach in Punta Cana with some fruity drink in our hands. Having a monumental birthday heading my way, I’d figured I’d share some thoughts on the big 40!
You hear someone is turning 40 and most people (younger people) think that is SOOO old! Sheesh its half of 80! Here I am less than a month away from being “OLD” and that is so far from what I am feeling. Yes I might not be able to hang with the twenty something kids and drink all night and get up early the next morning to go to work, but physically and emotionally I feel stronger than I did at that age. It took 4 decades to learn to not be afraid to take risks, that my parents were right on several occasions, that bad things happen in life but that too will pass and most importantly to love yourself.
While others are very afraid of what 40 might represent, I decided to embrace it (I kind of don’t have a choice, its coming whether I like it or not ) I have a wonderful job, a thriving photography business plus the most loving husband, family and friends. If God gave me all these things in the last 4 decades and he promises my future will be better than my past, then I cannot wait to see what my 40’s bring me. (minus any extra white hairs or wrinkles)
To finish this off, wanted to leave a few words of wisdom for the youngins out there
Stretch yourself at least once a year. Find a goal that will take you out of your comfort zone.
Get rid of those toxic people in your life, yes that means those boyfriends or girlfriends that do not treat you right. Mr Right and Mrs Right are out there, but you won’t meet them until you get rid of Mr/Mrs Wrong.
Remember you are beautiful and smart. Don’t let people’s negativity bring you down.
Life is not all about work, go have fun, travel, spend time with your family.
Finally….Age is but a number…You are as old as you are in your heart….so I guess that means I’m still twenty
